SUMMARY:Civil War Walking Tour (Member Only)
DESCRIPTION:Join DCPL staff members downtown to explore Civil War history through the built environment. Learn about the history of wartime through memorials\, architecture\, and demolitions. Hear about the spies\, the nurses\, and the military generals who lived in DC during the war\, and how their experiences have been commemorated–or forgotten–by the present landscape. This tour will begin at the National Building Museum and traverse less than a mile of city sidewalks. \nThis tour is free to DCPL Members\, with a ticket cost of $55 to non-members.
