2021 Congressional Cemetery Tour (Members Only, Dog Friendly)
October 9, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
DC Preservation League Members are invited to join us on Saturday, October 9th for an in-person tour of Congressional Cemetery!
Congressional Cemetery is a 35-acre historic, active burial ground located on Capitol Hill. Initially known as the Washington Parish Burial Ground, Congressional became the first truly national burial ground as Congress bought sites, buried noted civil servants, and funded the infrastructure.
Among the 67,000 burials at Congressional are scores of noteworthy citizens who left their mark on the city and the nation. Join us to learn the history of the cemetery and some of those buried here.
Dog Friendly: Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Additionally, attendees who would like to stay after the tour for the dog park can purchase a $10 day pass online or when they arrive (easier option)!
**COVID Information: The safety of our guests is of the utmost importance to us and for this reason, we are requiring that all participants be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required upon arrival at the event. Vaccination card or picture of card will be accepted. Masks are also required for this event, regardless of vaccination status.
This is a DCPL Members-only event. Note that you need to be signed in to your Neon account in order to successfully register. Not a member? Become one here or during registration.
