DESCRIPTION:The fight for women’s suffrage has roots all across America\, but many of its most important moments have taken place in Washington\, DC. In addition to local activists who fought not only for women’s suffrage but for suffrage for all DC residents\, women came from all over the country to Washington\, DC\, to campaign and lobby Congress for voting rights. Join Quinn Evans architectural historians Ruth Mills and Patti Kuhn Babin for this Women’s History Month webinar\, based on a recently completed historic context study that recognizes important themes\, people\, and places that define the history of women’s suffrage in Washington\, DC. The webinar will also provide an in-depth look at several historic sites in Washington that played an important role in the women’s suffrage movement. She has outstanding research and project management skills and meets federal professional qualifications as a historian. She has successfully completed over sixty individual historic documentation efforts\, including more than twenty National Register\, National Historic Landmark nominations and Determinations of Eligibility\, fourteen Historic Structures Reports and Conditions Assessment Reports\, ten Cultural Landscape Reports and Studies\, plus numerous Section 106 reviews\, historic tax credit applications and intensive level surveys. \n  \n  \nPatti Kuhn Babin |  Fitwel Amb.  |  Architectural Historian \nPatti Kuhn Babin is an architectural historian and cultural resource specialist with broad experience researching and documenting historic buildings and landscapes. She has completed surveys and reports for numerous high-profile projects and has completed National Register of Historic Places determinations of eligibility for hundreds of property types. Patti works closely with clients and design teams to provide important context for properties\, contributing inspiration for new uses and design concepts based upon a property’s historic narrative. She is the author of many acclaimed reports and presentations related to architectural history.
