Join DCPL and staff members of The Menkiti Group to learn about the ongoing Bond Bread/WRECO redevelopment project happening on the Western edge of the Howard University campus. The Bond Bread/WRECO site is home to two existing historic structures; the 1929 Art Deco Bond Bread Factory, and the 1930 Washington Railway and Electric Company (WRECO) Garage. Learn about proposed rehabilitation and the overarching goals of the project, which seeks to preserve the cultural heritage of the Pleasant Plains neighborhood and enhance the historic qualities of the buildings themselves.
