World Pride: LGBTQ+ Walking Tour in Dupont Circle (June 6th)

June 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm

Celebrate Pride on a walking tour of queer historic places in the Dupont Circle neighborhood with representatives from the Rainbow History Project, the DC Preservation League, and the DC Office of Planning, Historic Preservation Office.

This history is local, but by nature of being in the nation’s capital, ties into larger narratives, debates, and attacks on the queer community. Join us to learn more about the resilience, tenacity, diversity, and joy of the queer community in Washington, DC. The tour will be a little over one mile on flat ground and start and end in Dupont Circle (along P Street, up 17th Street, along S Street, and down Connecticut Avenue). This tour is open to all people with a ticket cost of $10.00, paid online. Registration required to participate.

This tour is led by Delaney Resweber, who is the Director of Social Geography and serves on the board with the Rainbow History Project. Since 2000, the Rainbow History Project has operated as an all-volunteer run nonprofit focused on promoting, preserving, and collecting LGBT+ history in Washington DC. Outside of the Rainbow History Project, Delaney is a geospatial analyst and has a degree in Historic Preservation.
